Biosafety Cabinets

The blowers mounted in the cabinet pass air through the HEPA filters across the work surface, removing contaminants from the sample. The filtered air is blown downward over the samples and processes to prevent contamination. Biosafety cabinets also use an air door (air curtain) to prevent contaminants from moving towards personnel.

Biosafety cabinets protects sample, user and environment by recirculating HEPA-filtered exhaust air inside lab or venting outdoors, unlike laminar flow cabinets which protect samples only but not users as they have an open face and blow unfiltered exhaust air towards the user via laminar airflow.
