A hospital bed mattress is medical mattress used in hospital, medical facilities or at home. Some patients require long-term treatment at home because of their reduced or impaired mobility. It is a cushioned and comfortable mattress with air circulation, heat dissipating and breezing controls to enable patient to quickly adapt the surface. The types of hospital bed mattress include fowler bed mattress, semi-flower bed mattress, comfort air mattress, air pump mattress, flocked air bed, and medical water bed mattress. They are available in different dimensions, weight and style. 

A hospital bed mattress needs to be sterilizing after single-time use in order to prevent spread of infectious particles and maintain proper hygiene in the hospital. The different methods used to sterilize a medical mattress are: chemical disinfection, UV light disinfection, thermal infrared (IR) disinfection, ozone sterilization, and dry steam process.
