Pediatric Ventilator

A Pediatric Ventilator is used to provide life support to premature or sick babies. It is a device used for pumping breathable air into the lungs of infants who are unable to breathe normally, and are in critical health condition to survive. This ventilator is designed for monitoring parameters such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory distress, blood oxygen saturation, and core temperature. It uses a breathing tube as a medium to supply oxygen to the lungs. While the one end of the tube is connected to the windpipe of the baby, the second is connected to the machine. 

Most neonates who need a pediatric ventilator have immature lungs, chronic lung disease, or/and respiratory distress syndrome. The most commonly used modes for emergency ventilation include volume control ventilation (VCV), pressure regulated volume control ventilation (PRVC), and pressure control ventilation (PCV). Pressure-targeted ventilation is the most common of all. The devices can run over electricity and backup battery; and can be mounted on a cart with castor wheels to enable portability.
