Being a part of acoustic sensor, the ultrasonic detector is divided into three segments i.e., transmitters, receivers & transceivers. Functioning on sound waves, it emits high-frequency ultrasonic waves and receives back an echo signal from the target.
An ultrasonic detector can be used for evaluating distance, wind speed, channel or tank liquid level, speed through water or air, sea level, etc.
The maximum range of an ultrasonic detector is about 20 meters i.e., 70 feets. However, it completely depends on the target’s size, orientation and shape.
